Understanding retail

It's a really exciting time to be part of the retail industry. While I prefer not to be involved directly in operations, since I have already spent several years doing that in the US, I find it immensely more enjoyable to research trends, understand consumers, figure out why people shop the way they do, how they make their purchasing decisions etc. One of the best books in this field is of course Paco Underhill's Why We Buy, the guru of retail science. If you are interested in delving into the depths of retail, then make this book your bible.
