Play a hand in preserving the environment

I attended a boarding school in the lower Himalayas, where we constantly fought against the rampant deforestation that is leading to landslides, floods and lots of other problems. Our school campus was a haven of green as compared to surrounding hills and the effects of over 150 years of care has made the campus a haven of green. If only we could apply the same procedures and principles everywhere to protect our environment. Unfortunately, not everyone takes it as seriously as we did.

I was really happy to read of the growing trend of eco-tourism that is being spearheaded by the state of Hawaii, where is offering tourists eco-friendly vacation plans on Kauai, Maui as well as other Hawaiian islands. Tourism is a major industry of Hawaii, accounting for $3.1 billion in 2005, an increase from $2.9 billion in 2004. Since Hawaii relies so heavily on tourism, it is essential for it to preserve it for the future. "Green hotels" such as these Kauai vacation rentals, that are environmentally responsible are a great draw for tourists so that they can be part of preserving the islands of Hawaii. At Hawaiian Beach Rentals you can get vacation homes, condos or hotels to stay in and even book your air tickets.
