Officially started our search for apts in Dubai
This weekend our focus has been on finding an apartment in Dubai and we spent the entire morning looking through The Gulf News Properties newspaper, which had some really great information and tons of listings of apartments and villas. I have looked for apartments in lots of cities in India as well as the US, but this one is the most organized classified paper I have ever seen.
Properties are organized by location, by sale or by lease, the prices are listed very clearly, in short it was really quick work to go through 4 papers and get some great leads on finding an apartment there. The prices are listed for the entire year and prices vary from 35,000AED to pretty much unlimited millions (1USD=3.6AED) for apartments from studio to penthouses to villas.
For reference, an average 1-bdr of around 800-900 sq ft will cost anywhere from 90,000-200,000AED per year, which works out to approximately 25,000-55,000USD per year. I have sent lots of emails to real estate agents there and hope to start getting some information in the next couple of days.
