Shutdown Day: Can you turn off your computer for a day?

Can you do without your computer for a day?

March 24th is Shutdown Day, a test of our times, a day to see how we can manage without computers. Have we come to depend on them so much that we can not even think of not working on them for a day? The computer has brought about the concept of 'being connected' no matter where one is (along with phones now). The project was thought of by Denis Bystrov who thought of the idea and Michael Taylor who is running this social experiment with him.

All you have to do is to go to the Shutdown Day site and vote yes or no, on whether you can do without your computer for a day. I personally think it's a great idea and will definitely be participating. I know its going to be pretty hard to stay away from checking mail and assignments, but it's a great way to explore life without being stuck to a computer. It's just a day after all.....any longer than that gives me shivers!
