HR upheaval at top level retailers

Another round of HR shuffling has been taking place at some of the most prominent retail firms as executives are leaving and getting poached from new companies, before even their retail store operations have got off the ground। Some of the high profile retail executives who have left include COO of Pantaloon Ved Prakash Arya, HR Head of AVB Retail Vijay Kashyap, who will be moving to Australia, senior VP at Subhiksha Abhijit Sanyal and V Nagaprasad, both of whom will be joining rival firm Reliance Retail. Wal-Mart has not been spared either with Randy Guttery, the company's cash-and-carry operations head and Lance Retig, a senior executive having put in their papers last week. Other high profile resignations include Rajeev Karwal who left Reliance Retail several months ago and G Shankar, CEO of Lifestyle International who left the company late last year.

Update 18th March 2007:
Bharti and Reliance have signed a no-poaching pact.
