shopping by impulse or need

Sometimes one just feels like buying something for no reason at all, right? I don't often get that feeling, well apart for books etc, but last night I saw this lovely little jade pendant when I was at the mall doing my weekly shopping. I have very similar earrings already, so thought aha, it would made a great set, although I really don't like wearing things as sets...too matchy-matchy for me. But it seemed like a good way to convince myself to buy it, which is what I did! I have a friend who does not do her shopping without looking at the Sale page, but I've got no sense for prices and remembering what is priced where, I just buy as I go along and it works out nicely for me. I must add that I always do my weekly groceries using a list, I feel a little lost without it!

Often I believe that my life moves from one list to another!!! I have a list for nearly everything... weekly shopping, home improvements, list at work... kids bday party guest list, gift list, things to do list... etc.. etc..

And I'm one of those.. who just 'has to buy' something that my heart is on!! Over the years, I've figured, if I have a second thought I don’t really want it.. so I quickly move on... And it works fine for me!!
Same here Shalini.Shopping is impulse here with me too.Sometimes I go looking out for things which i need, most of the times, windowshopping turns out to be a night mare ,looking at the bills.Regarding the list,i have to write, otherwise i cannot buy its like that:)I sometimes think,Oh God,what happened to my retention skills,Do i need a memory check? But it goes easy with alist.Even if I am going out on holidays,i write alist to check whether things are there, then tick them on my check list ,tallying and things.Even my husband is not bad regarding that.the firat thing he tells me is Lakshmi pl,make the list.lol, otherwise u will blame me:)I will go without my ipod, and my phone...And have blamed him umpteen number of times.its nice,i cherish these moments, shalini.Shalini u are actually making me write so much.Lengthier than ur posts. All posts are well thought of.

Patricia, so you're another list-maniac too! Do join Lakshmi, Kanchan at Elan and me in posting monthly lists...we did one on books this month!

I know what you mean, I used to pass lots of things that I really wanted...but decided not to buy as I didn't Need them...which I ended up regretting as they are usually small things that make one happy.

Lakshmi, I've been wanting a green stone pendant for a long time...an astrologer told me I should wear an emerald the size of a house....but the jade is a good alternative. It's so pretty, who can resist a lovely green stone :-)

I make lists for holidays too...don't want to take any chances of ruining a vacation just like that.

So glad you're connecting with my posts so well....love your long comments. Yes, I like writing short posts and bulleted ones too!
Oh ho.So many similarites.Even my astrologer has made me wear agreen emerald ring, sayng its birth stone for me according to my star.He made me wear three types of ring:) before my marriage.
I also love writing bulleted lists. In school and college used to write and study using bulleted points for the essays and remind the points and used to make an essay out of it and write then and there for exams..yaadein yaad aate hai..

Lol, that's so interesting! So did the rings do their magic? This is so pretty that I don't mind wearing it everyday!

Write a post about your writing style...bulleted vs paragraphed!
Its nice talking to you shalini.the story of the three rings,One was an emerald ring, one was a diamond ring(lucky stone),one was a brown coloured stone(dont remember its name). My amma got worried, coz my marriage was getting delayed and thts how we approached the astrologer. He said the rings will do thier tricks. But shalini, some how by hook or crook,I had not worn them for sure, but the day they were brought home and kept in the almirah,That day itself my husbands parents came to see me and they liked me.But atleast a step forward, isnt it?I still wear all three of them and also the wedding ring.
I will definitely write on bulleted and paragraph, let me research and think over.

How cool! What a great story, Lakshmi, you must write about it on your blog. So they did bring luck, even though you hadn't worn them!
Surely will write one day,the story of the three rings that brought me luck?Is the title ok?
