Specialty malls all the rage

Specialty malls are becoming increasingly popular these days, especially in the eastern city of Kolkata. The latest is a home appliances mall called Homeland, which will have around 150 outlets that will sell the latest home and office appliances. Specialty retailing is not new to India at all, but it is new in it’s new avatar as an organized retail store. Traditionally, merchants selling one kind of product have always preferred to be located close together as they are able to pull in more customers. Jewelry and crockery and cutlery stores are the most common manifestation of traditional retailers opening stores next to each other.
