Fashion is missing a "must-have" this season

Reuters writes that US retailers are despairing that the holiday season is almost starting and there is no "must-haves" items as yet. The layered and voluminous tops worn over slim, legging like pants have been around since spring, and cannot quaqlify as the next big thing. Although it is still to early to predict holiday sales, last month's back to school sales will give a good indication to things to come. The holiday season time is critical to most retailer's bottomlines, with most making around 24% of annuan income from this time period.
"There is nothing new on the horizon. Same old, same old," said retail analyst Kurt Barnard. "Why should you buy a new blouse or new dress if what the merchants offer is something that you already have?"
