Customizing searches

As I get more and more involved in writing a blog, maintaining my site, considering getting my own domain name, add nifty software, I am reading and understanding more about how to really make a page/site viable and commercial. One such site I came across offers a variety of customized searches and plugins that you can easily add to your existing toolbar to get the best results suited to you.
