Overheard: at IGI airport arrivals hall

One man says to another, dekho ji, koi free drink ka coupon de raha hai, koi 'yes sir, yes sir' keh raha hai, yahan to pura mahoul hi badal gaya!

Welcome to the new IGI airport in Delhi. Where the floors and loos are clean, the duty-free shops are well-stocked and most shocking of all, the staffers are all polite.

Translation: Look here, someone is giving a coupon for free drinks, someone is saying "yes sir, yes sir", the entire atmosphere has changed here!

Oh yes, it's completely changed. You will really notice a lot of difference....some good and some bad.

Kshitiz, You'll notice lots of changes at the airport and city as well!

Cuckoo, have changed the settings :-)

hw, after years of indifference and rudeness by IGI staff, it is quite shocking to see them being so polite. Pleasant surprise would be too tame a reaction :-)

Recently went thru the airport and like most they were checking for swine flu. Unfortunately the process caused long delays - everything was manual. Long line to get a form to fill out to give to a medical attendant who had to stamp it before you went to immigration. They did not use the cameras that checked for high temps - everything is manual and SLOW.

anon, yes still lots of improvements to be made...I believe even the forms for the medical test are all wrong.
