View from my window

Fuel My Blog is running a View from my window photo competition, so I thought I'd throw my hat in the ring as well. I've starting taking interesting pictures only recently (at least, I think so) and while most come out boring and commonplace, some pictures stand out, not only for the quality of picture, but also for the memory they invoke.

I took this picture from the kitchen door of my uncle's house in Ridgefield, CT. I wanted to capture the moment as it was that magical time of the evening, when the sky was changing and almost glowing, contrasting with the dark, bare trees in the foreground.

There's a very tranquil quality to the dusk and your picture has captured it so well! I really should look around and find a good shot for the contest.

I was writing a post focusing on my plumeria when you left your lovely comment about the last one, lol!

Thanks, Skeet! I had just started taking "interesting" pics around this time and really having fun with my digi cam.

Ah, nothing quite like a Plumeria to perk oneself up. We have them in the common gardens in our apartment complex and I always pick the fallen ones to tuck behind my ear or put in a bowl of water for my desk. It's quite surprising how much of a difference just a little flower can make.

Wow, your uncle is so blessed to live here! How often do you visit him?

Yes, he has a great house and really peaceful surroundings. I visit them every time I'm in the country...last year it was twice, this year??
