Reliance Retail to open stores in Delhi
Reliance Retail will be opening stores in Delhi on Monday, 29th January, 2007. The company will be opening 9 Reliance Fresh outlets in areas such as Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Gurgaon and Noida. The company has 40 Reliance Fresh stores at present, located in Hyderabad, Jaipur and Chennai. In each city, Reliance has opened several stores at a time, and inaugurated stores by local housewives, a tactic that has led to hundreds of women lining up on opening day.
Reliance Retail will be the country's largest retail investment, with an outlay of over Rs 25,000 crore and a game plan to open stores in 764 cities across the country. For the NCR (National Capital Region) alone, the company has kept Rs 8,000 crore to set up its stores. Company sources, say that Reliance Retail will be opening around 400-600 stores in the NCR region, taking up 50 million sq ft of space.
