Cross country by train

While I was researching one of my earlier posts on Glenwood Springs, I came across a site which had the detailed listing of all the route and description of the California Zephyr, the train that I took from Chicago to San Francisco one summer in college. I wish I had such a listing and description with me then, so I could have known more about the area I was traveling through. The train schedule is designed so that the incredible view can be seen in the daylight hours, while one sleeps when crossing the plain states.
