Last read-Undercover Economist
Just finished reading Tim Harford's The Undercover Economist. Its a thought provoking book in the same vein as Steven Levitt's Freakonomics, which I had read earlier this year. While Freakonomics covers a wide array of topics such as reduction in crime to cheating by teachers, The Undercover Economist sticks to the fundmental questions of cost vs price, value vs worth etc. I thought one of the most interesting sections of the book was how retailers decide the price of an item and the tricks they use to promote their in-house brands. The style of writing of the book is extremely readable and user friendly. I must say that this genre of books is fast becoming my favorite.
